Towards the end of 2006, I left my company to work from home and take care of my father who had suffered a sudden debilitating illness. I was living off my savings at this time with the intent of going back to work. By May I had exhausted my savings. I start work back at my former company in February, but I am now delinquent 7 months and owe approximately $30,000. My home is set for auction in 3 weeks (Jan 8th). I got an offer two months ago to modify the loan for half of what I owe, however I do not have that at this time. I would like to stay in my home if something can be worked out. My 1st is $1,190,000 and I have a HELOC for $190,000. The value is approximately $1.5.
