If you are behind on mortgage you have many options. Your first question should be can I afford my mortgage payment? If the answer to this question is no
you have 2 options.
Short Sale - Sell your house for less than you owe.
Deed in Lieu - Give the home back to the mortgage company if there are no additional liens or judgments.. Will still be considered a foreclosure but there should not be any judgments against you.
