Default In Michigan, during a foreclosure, what

happens after Sheriff's sale? My friend got served with notification from a law firm regarding foreclosure on his home, and has started to get mass amounts of mail from attorneys about stopping foreclosure (spam mail). I opened one and noticed that it said the "Sheriff's Sale" is in February. I know he still has a redemption period, even if a Sheriff's sale takes place, and that depends on the lender. I guess I'm just trying to get a grasp on the timeframe that he will have left in the home.
