Default Is the lease valid with new owner if the

property was foreclosure or auctioned? Hello to you all, my sister is leasing a store since January 2011. She has three months security deposit with landlord and she is paying the rent on time. Last week, gentleman introduced himself as a new landlord and he told her that the property was in auction for five years and he purchased the property on September 5, 2011, therefore, your lease with previous landlord is invalid and I would give you a new lease. My question is, if the property was foreclosure or an auctioned, and the lease she signed never mentioned that the property was in auction or foreclosure, will the lease be invalid and she has to have a new lease? Thank youLet me explain the five years foreclosure means. My sister told me that the first auction was on 2006 and the building was auctioned (mortgage forclosure) more than seven times since 2006 to 2011 and all the judgments were against the defendant (previous landlord) for the plaintiff (new landlord). I do not understand why the defendant still has the building since the first auction on 2006. Thank you
