Default Home going into foreclosure/collecting

rent..help!? My husband and I rent a granny flat attached to a house. The house is going into foreclosure..can the family that owns it still legally collect rent from us?

They still own the house. So yes they can.

Yes and up until the day it forecloses or they can file proceeding to evict.It would be nice if they would work with you and let you save up money to move-did you ask for reduced rent or no rent for that reason? I would write them a letter.Then again what are you gonna do- you are probably gonna have to move?Sometimes ( rarely) a good tenant stay and pays and the new owner keeps them- but that is rare!I know a lady who did that- then the new landlord ( after the tenant was there for years) told her to get out because her son wanted to live in the home!

laws have recently been passed in some states making this illegal. you need to check your local laws
