2 Parts: If house is in foreclosure do I still have to
pay rent? If house is unlivable do I still have to pay? I live in Brevard County, Florida and rent a room in a five (5) bedroom home. The house is in foreclosure and has been for some time although we have not yet been forced out. We each, to my knowledge have individual agreements (leases) made with the landlord. Many of the utilities are in his name and in the past he has shown his true colors as a crook, pocketing our money, and sometimes getting our utilities shut off for non payment after we've paid him.The second part is we in the house have all become physically ill many times during the course of our stay mainly to the part of bats, dozes and dozens of bats and their guano. We all have bronchitis, pneumonia, and various other diseases regularly. He refuses to fix the problem or help it at all, there's even a 9 month along pregnant girl here.I, individually and us as a household wanna know if we have to keep paying him to protect ourselves. We all plan to move and go our separate ways come tax check time, and dont want him trying to come after us if we dont pay him, but it in all honesty is an unbearable situation. I need help desperately. What can I do?
