Landlord & Tenant foreclosure property?
I know it's probably been answered many times. I'am a tenant and the house I'm rent is going under foreclosure. Last month the auction was postponed. The auction is set for 11/24/2010. I'm really confused here. I have not talked to the landlord about the foreclosure at all. I have a lease thats with the landlord set to expire on 12/31/2010. I did not notice that the landlord put the deposit as non-refundable. I believe the lease was not really filled out properly. Its nearly holiday seasons and I dont want to be moving around that time. I'm familiary with the Protecting Tenants at Foreclosure Act of 2009--Should I pay rent? --Do I wait and see what happens about the auction? --What if he manages to buy back the house somehow? --Should I talk to him? (I have a feeling, he will tell me "not to worry") --What to do?? wait...?Should I pay Decembers rent? So I can reclaim my deposit. I plan on moving out before the holidays in dec.
