Default What are the steps in buying a foreclosure

these days? I am looking into buying a townhome in the next six months and wonder why buy a home at full price when all these places are going into foreclosure? The problem is that i haven't a clue where to start, so i figured the knowledgeable people on yahoo answers could lend me a helping hand. Some general questions i have are :Is it a long process? How do i get a hold of these listings? (seems they're guarded)Will I be able to walk inside the home and have it inspected prior to sending an offer?IS IT WORTH IT?Thanks Everyone

Always keep in mind:If you are looking for a good apartment, you should be able to have a good search plan. You should ensure beforehand that you know the type of apartment you want. Determine ahead of time in what part of the city you would like your apartment to be located and then have a list of apartment buildings within that area.It is highly important that you bear in mind the distance of your apartment to your place of work. Take note of the time it would take for you to travel from your apartment to the places you usually will be going. Also bear in mind the distance of your apartment to stores, hospitals, church and banks. If you have a car or a motorcycle, make sure that there is a good parking space for your apartment in any time of the day. If you don’t own one, make sure that your apartment is near the public transportation terminals. You should be able to determine the size of the apartment that you want before getting one. This would highly depend on the living space that you want. Have a list of furniture, appliances and belongings you have in order for you to have an idea how huge you’d want your apartment to be. Also determine if you’d want an apartment that you will be staying in for a long period of time or just for a couple of months. If you have a pet such as a dog or a cat make sure you check if your apartment allows you to bring in animals. Some apartment that don’t allow pets indoors have a security area where you could have your dog or cat stay. There are also apartments that have fitness facilities such as gym or a pool. Some even have a recreation room though these kinds of apartments usually are expensive.
