Default Is it possible to save my credit in midst of a...

...foreclosure? I am 31 years old and have a 2.5 year old son and am currently going through a divorce and I am concerned about finding housing for my son and myself after this foreclosure goes through. They just filed the lawsuit paperwork for the foreclosure and recieved it in the mail this week. I am unable to take over the house payments. Is it possible to do a deed in lieu of foreclosure to stop this credit devastation or any other ideas that would help my son and I to start our new life heading in the right direction? I tried filing for government help but apparently "I make too much money"...lol Any suggestions would be helpful...Thank you!
