Can lenders sue you for any reason when you file

foreclosure and will you owe any form of taxes? I have a condo here in California that we are about to foreclose. I have 2 loans but both were for the house. No re-financing, house improvements loans. Will I still owe any taxes and can my lender sue me if I foreclose on the property?
