You have just cause as I'm sure any lawyer in your locale will tell you.If the landlord doesn't want to prove it to you, then you can file a lawsuit against the landlord for a contemplated breach of contract as evidenced by an actual or constructive notice of "operation of law" called a pending foreclosure action notice. The landlord will have to prove something in court! You will still have to pay rent, only now, you will pay the rent into the court treasury, until the court decides the case. Get a good lawyer, because there are lots of rules in the landlord's security instrument about not paying mortgage on the building including rent has to be paid to lender instead of landlord. Get a smart lawyer because you might even have more rights!###
