Default How long after foreclosure can you buy a home...

...again? I am a teacher and was just layed off. We are trying to find a way to keep our home. However, I don't know if it is going to be possible. We are trying for a modification right now.The thing that bothers me most is the fact that I feel like my life is over. I feel like I will never own a home again. How long after foreclosure can you buy a home again? Am I doomed for years and years? I am very depressed.Thank you so much for the advice. I really, really want to prevent it. I won't be able to find another teaching job as thousands upon thousands of teachers are losing their jobs. My husband has owned a small insurance agency with no employees for 3 years. I have decided to get my license and become his customer service rep, and we will begin hiring agents soon. I just don't think that this will enable us to make our payments, but we are willing to do whatever it takes and take on extra evening work. We are working with a modification company. Should we call that real estate attorney as well?
