Default Tax sale and foreclosure homes.?

I have 9,300 dollars in my savings, I will like to move into a real nice home. I saw a informercial, that got me all hyped, it said that I could by a foreclosure home for $300 up to 10,000. is this true and if so is it possible I could get a nice big home in a nice neighborhood.Educate me pleaseThanks

It depends on any seller concessions worked into the contract. You are going to need at least 3.5% for the down payment plus any closing costs that are not credited from the seller. You're probably looking at a house around $250,000 which can get you a very nice house in this market. You will have to speak with a Realtor about the actual contract and offer details. Good luck!
