Default My home is in foreclosure?

My house is getting forclosed. There is a forclosure sale on may 19. Say somebody bought it that day, could they kick us out the next day? If not, how long would we have? A source would be nice but if not it's fine thanksWe already had a sherifs sale. And it's been 5 months since then. Now the are having an actual forclosure sale

May 19th is called the Sheriff's Sale. Your house will be auctioned off on the steps of your county courthouse on that date IF you fail to come up with and pay the outstanding past-due balance on your mortgage and bring it up to date. Right now, your house is in "pre-foreclosure". If it goes to auction, you still have another 6 months before they can evict you, and you can still redeem yourself, only it will be a lot more troublesome and costly.

You will have to find out what they do in your state. Have you tried to short sale your home. If not I would put it on the market tomorrow and try to sell it before the sale. Speak to an attorney they should be able to help you figure what is best for you.

Honestly it depends on which state you live in...laws protecting the former owner of the foreclosed owner differs from sate to state
