in May,still paying rent,what can i do to get out of this now? the property manager says i can't get out of he lease, even though the owner isn't paying the mortgage. They are taking the money i could use to move with. Don't want an eviction on my credit so i coninue to pay. What about my deposits? i'll probably never see that money. When i ask abou repair of electrical in the house i'm told that the owner has no money! The property manager says if i don't pay she can't get payed. I'm caught in a Catch 22! What can i legally do! If i stop paying rent will they will evict me i belive. By the way i am only 6 months into my lease! Thanks for any input

This sucks!! I would call a lawyer and ask, but I know I would not pay anymore. You can easily explain the eviction on your record. I think I would rather take the hit than to continue to pay these people. No telling how long they have not been paying. Some of these loan companies can take up to a year to foreclose.
