Programs to buy homes near foreclosure?
Has anyone heard of a company giving seminars in the Bay Area to teach you how to contact homeowners behind on their mortgage to see if they want to sell? They basically "sell" you a list of homeowners behind on their mortgage and instruct you on buying these properties as investments.

Complete scam. The best best way to get the information is from the tax collector and then if you like a house you could offer the homeowner a price to see if they want to do a short sale. A short sale is basically a sale to rid the homeowner of the debt but allows the buyer to get a deal.
