Default I have an apartment building in foreclosure the bank

has stepped in,? and they are having the renters pay them the rent, I am paying for gas, water and trash, since the bank are taking the rents, do I have any legal remedies to relieve me of these utility payments.State is California.

You should make copies of the notice of Trustees Sale and/or foreclosure documentation.Send a copy of the documents to each utility company with a letter explaining your situation and that the bank is now collecting all rents.Inform the utility company that future bills should be sent to the bank. Your obligation to pay the utilities ultimately ends upon the date of the trustees sale which is the actual foreclosure date.You should also send a copy of this to the bank. Technically, the utility company can charge you for all usage up and until the day of foreclosure. You may want to consult a bankruptcy attorney.
