Default Can I get in any legal trouble for staying in a...

...home that is due to go on foreclosure? It's a situation a bit complicated. I moved into a home where I recently found out that the home is going on foreclosure. When I first moved in, the owner of the home was not present and I honestly don't know if he's ever coming back. A renter here, has a power of attorney and she's the one that gave me the lease agreement on behalf of the owner. She just told me today that's she's moving out and that I could stay here and not pay rent until the bank takes possession of the home. The owner of the house is being seek-ed by the IRS and has obviously stopped making payments on the mortgage. She doesn't know when he's coming back or if he is at all. If I do stay here, like she says, would I get in any legal trouble at all? Can the owner of the house take me to court for not paying rent if he ever comes back? I know is a long question but I would appreciate any information on this issue. Thanks in advance. Thanks to everyone for all your answers. They were all really helpful. I guess I'm gonna stay here until I get kicked out but I'm still going to save my rent money, just in case the owner asks for it later.
