foreclosure.? We don't really have any relatives left to give advice so we're turning to our fellow Americans for some good advice! We've been holding our head above water for a long time now...But it can't go on forever. We know what's goning to happen. We are not in a foreclosure, but what things can a homeowner do the stay in control of their situation if they have figured that they will not be able to afford to stay in their home??? To be specific...If one knows that within a couple of months the bank could foreclose...What are some things that can be done to control the outcome so that there's less damage to the home owner...Talk to an attorney?? Try to list the house for a short sale?? Refinance to lower payments was an idea...But we don't think anyone will do anything with a home worth less than owed...If a foreclosure is inevitable...We just wanted to make the first move instead of them...Hoping we could reduce the damage some way by trying to have some control...Any ideas??

Talk to a lawyer. Try to refinance...if you can't do that try to sell....I just went through this with a neighbor, he waited too long and lost his house. Have you considered renting a room? Don't talk to a realtor before you chat with a lawyer. There are many realtors out there feeding off foreclosures.......Good luck to you!
