Short sale help in New York

Going through a bad divorce, was laid off from my job due to the economy was making over $50,000.00 year but am now on unemployment. Maintaining the mortgage is now an extreme hardship and my soon to be ex is not helping the situation. I just received a letter addressed to him stating that the proceedings will soon start.Â The mortgage is with Citi bank. Citibank is foreclosing.
