Question Locate Homeowner Short Sale

Hello,

There is a property in my neighborhood that I have been keeping an eye on.
It is coming up for a Sheriff's sale. I am interested in doing a short sale, however, according to the court records the homeowner can't be located.

I am new to the biz & would like to know how /if you can do a short sale w/out the homeowner.

Thx

Default Locate Homeowner Short Sale

no, the property belongs to the homeowner until the sheriff sale and then the property either goes back to the bank or is purchased in the sale. The only way to do a short sale would be to locate the homeowner and get authorization.
