My husband and I are 2 months behind and as of 1/1/2009 we will be 3 months behind. I am making a mortgage payment 2679.26 on Jan 5, 2009. I'm sending it and they said they will return. My husband broke his foot in Dec 2007. We tried to keep up with the back payments but it was to much. So we decided to do a loan modifcation and are still waitng. He is back to work and we are trying to keep up. Our mortgage is Saxon Mortgage service avoid foreclosure

Saxon is good at working out a solution, if loan mod doesn't work you can ask for a repayment plan. Plus there is something new I think its called the HAP they will get all your info over the phone and tell you if you are approved, set up 3 discounted payments to see if you can make them in the meantime they request documentation to proove new earnings and if everything works out they approve new fixed rate 5 years or life of the loan. Plus if you pay monthly payments on time at the end of the year you are given $1000 off your principal up to 5 years.
