Default Is the title search company liable for it's

mistake? I bought a house with mortgage and I paid for title search and owners policy. The seller had tax owed which the title search company estimated $4,000 in escrow from seller. After 2 months I get a call from my lawyer indicating that the money due from tax is actually about 7,500 and the seller is liable for only $2,500 and I have to pay the rest! Am I responsible for the title company's mistake?

You will have to pay the difference. The title company can only estimate taxes until the official figure is received from the court house. There will be a clause in your agreement with the title company which holds them harmless for estimates.
