How long does FL law allow for a title company to...
...return an escrowed good faith deposit? I cancelled a contract on a home because the home had toxic mold; I am rightfully entitled to a refund of my deposit, however its been two months and the title company has not returned my deposit nor are they returning my calls and are giving me a different story every time I call. I need to know what the law or the statutes are which govern this so that I can intelligently write a demand AND file a complaint. I'd imagine the title company doesn't get all the time in the world to refund it and there has to be a statute somewhere which says so, I just can't seem to find it.I cancelled a contract on a home because the home had toxic mold; I am rightfully entitled to a refund of my deposit, however its been two months and the title company has not returned my deposit nor are they returning my calls and are giving me a different story every time I call. The sellers also agreed to cancel the contract and signed the cancellation.
