Smile Hello Loss Mitigation Forum

Hello All,

My name is Rebecca Fair. I am a Real Estate Paralegal & Mobile Loan Closer looking to expand my business to include loss mitigation. After researching the subject for many weeks, I decided to sign up with The American Loss Mitigation Consortium for training and back office support. I have to tell y'all, I'm not thrilled with the program thus far.

I spoke with Dan Schultz a few days after receiving the training disc about the fact that the “manual” could not be printed from the disc. Dan told me that it was glitch that occurred when switching from XP to Vista and he had IT guys trying to rectify the problem. Dan told me the glitch should be fixed in about two weeks. I asked Dan if there was an older version he could send me that was already printed out or possibly a copy of the manual in pdf that he could email me. Dan told me there was no other way to get a printed copy of the manual and said I was the only person that was complaining about the problem.

Now, as a business person, I find it hard to believe that ALMA does not have a “plan B” in place or has not created a “plan B” in light of the current printing issue. The loss mitigation business is about solving problems, is it not? Why can’t ALMA either fix the problem or provide a temporary solution? I’m not a computer genius, but I know how to scan documents and convert them to a pdf file…it’s not difficult at all.

After two weeks, I called ALMA to find out if the printing problem had been rectified. The gal that answered the phone could not answer my question, but said she would leave Dan a message and he would call me that day or the next. After 24 hours and no phone call, I called ALMA again and this time left a message on the answering machine. No return phone call by this afternoon so, I called ALMA again. I spoke with Dan and he said he had not called me back because there had been no change since we spoke last…no fix for the problem. Dan was very nice and said that I could send the disc back for a refund and he would contact me after the fix was made to reorder the program. That’s all fine and dandy, but I would prefer to have a manual now so I could continue with my training and start marketing my services.

I don’t mean to be a PITA about this, but I just can’t understand why a solution can not be found. Yes, I can read the entire contents of the manual on my computer, but not being able to refer back to things previously read, makes it difficult for me learn.

Being the problem solver that I am, I thought I would try to contact an attorney that I saw post on scam.com about ALMA and ask if he had a printable version of the ALMA training manual. Of course, now I can’t find the thread to locate the attorney and the search feature on scam.com doesn’t seem to be working for me. While searching for the posts made by the attorney, I lucked out and found this forum. So now I am asking, if there is anyone out there that has a printable version of the ALMA training manual, could you please send it to me? If you have a copy already printed out, I would be willing to pay for the coping service, your time and provide a UPS number for shipping.

Thank you for taking the time to read my long post. I look forward to learning and participating in this forum.

I am so glad that I came across this - I have been being interviewed by a local attorney to become a Paralegal to a Real Estate Attorney - and in the meantime of them sorting out the salary issues - I have been wanting to begin loss mitigation and start helping out as many people in this area as possible... it is crazy how Michigan is right now! I need help please!

No need, I appreciate your enthusiasm but I do not want to rock any boats with others that have their own thing going on. I have also listed numbers in the lender section below. We are working hard to get the info to you.

Default Loss Mitigation Training

Rick, I am happy you are here and hope you take an opportunity to read and post as much as you like. My comment on these loss mitigation training is, are you getting loss mitigation training or Sales Training to get them in and have someone else do the work? How can you call yourself a loss mitigator if all you are doing is selling the service? We will be offering training that will be backed by a forum similar to this and teaching end to end processing. You will actually be a loss mitigator or have the knowledge of te best servie available. Do not do it half way and pay someone else. you can keep all of the money and determine your own fees. just hang out ask questions and learn the business not Sales.

Our training course will be available soon and we have an unbeatable offer to go with it.
join the forum and be the first to know by email when it becomes available.

What is his cut for doing cases?
What is his success rate for your cases?
I have a team of loss mitigators that actually work for a lender currently, I will not reveal in order to maintain a quality relationship and we are going to be rolling out a program that we teach end to end and we will also do othe work for you and I can guarantee our prices will beat and our answers to homeowners will not be file bankruptcy or lose houses like I know happens in many organizations.
We are on the cutting edge of what is happening today and the new processes that the lenders are proposing.
