I sent in my packet (from the website) with paystubs, w2s, financials, and a hardship letter. They set us up on 1/2 payments for 3 months. I am supposed to call them 2 weeks after I make my 2nd payment which will be around March 1. Have they or Fannie Mae been successfully modifying loans? I'm very nervous. If we get denied, we will have to make all payments immediately!

Hi,

Yes Fannie Mae and Citimortgage have two programs. One is the SMP which is the streamline modification program. In this program you have to have your mortgage payment above 38% of your YEARLY GROSS INCOME.

The next program is the Early workout program which it looks like you are currently involved in. I would try the SMP because it is a fast turnaround of 48 hrs notification of acceptance. If you are going to do the SMP please tell them specifically you need to talk to someone that deals with only Fannie Mae.

Good Luck!!
