...foreclosure off my credit from ex-wife? Divorced 11+ years ago and court ordered wife to remove me from mortgage. I applied for loan and just found out she never did and is now 3 months behind on mortgage. Bank had advised she needs to sell or short-sale but she refuses. They claim I am responsible for payment and foreclosure will completely damage my credit can ability to get loan I desperately need. AM I responsible for this mortgage if I have had no control or access to house in 11+ years.Just lack of knowledge on my part - my attorney never suggested I had to verify she followed orders.. I assumed the courts made sure she removed as they put on decree. I am going to file to force her to sell the house.
