Default Can a mortgage company still charge you even after

a foreclosure? ? My parents bought a home in 2005 and than they had it foreclosed in 2009. They were paying two mortgages at the time. Recently the smaller of the two mortgages has been charging them the amount that remained on their account at the time of the foreclosure. My question is if they had their home foreclosed and don't live there anymore, why do they still have to pay for the house?

Think of it as a loan and not a house. Your parents received two loans and quit paying on them. The bank wants its money and will continue to go after your parents for it. They should consider filing for bankruptcy. Even though the house is not being lived in, that doesn't mean the loan goes away.
