Default 2nd mortgage foreclosure?

I have a first mortgage with 1 bank and line of credit (2nd mortgage) with a different bank. I have fallen behind on both. We filed chapter 7 bankruptcy in march and included both mortgages. I was told by a bankruptcy attorney (we filed prosay) that the 2nd mortgage could foreclose on the home however, because we owe the 1st mortgage $400,000 and the 2nd only $100,00 and our home now valued at $280,000, they could only really put a lien on the house. Is this true? We just got a letter from a law office claiming a notice of default. What are our options and any advice?
