I'm facing foreclosure and its Lis Pendens I
suppose. When I asked for a forebearance the mortgage company... wouldn't give it to me despite my asking for it before I ever fell behind in payments. I know I have a couple of options such as renting or just filing bankruptcy BUT I had opened a letter from the lender to send in two months payment, get a reduction of up to 25% on the note and the arrears would be pushed to the rear of the loan, and my credit would be restored. My question I ask myself is do I still care to pay the high interest rate that I've been paying that doesn't go toward the principal anyhow or just walk away from it. I know that I can always rebuild my credit after bankruptcy. If I walk away, the bank is only going to sell it for half of what I'm slated to pay for it, so should I even bother to keep it if they don't do what they offered to do in the letter they sent me? I have the two months payment to put everything in motion but now they also want 12 months of my bank statements to see if I qualify for the deal they offered. WTF?? They sent me the offer to begin with.
PS: There is no equity in the house.
