Loan approval after bankruptcy and foreclosure?
I was discharged from a chapter 7 bankruptcy almost 2 years ago. We had 2 rental properties that wil be foreclosed on, though the banks have not taken the houses yet.The guy at teh bank told me they would not even entertain the idea of a home loan until 3 years after the FORECLOSURES.Now, since the foreclosures have not happened yet, and may not happen for another year, this kinda sucks.Since our bankruptcy we've earned a lot more money, and could put down about 50-60 grand rigth NOW.We are not in a huge hurry to buy, but we probably would like to next year, or a little sooner. We would probably be looking at homes in the $125,000-$150,000 range. With $60,000 or more down, what lenders would we have a shot at, without ENORMOUS interest rates. We know we will pay an interest rate above the going rate, but we are not willing to pay way above that just to own a home, not worth it.Any ideas? What lenders are taking large down payments for people with bankruptcy/foreclosures?"season" it?Use Your Noodle, you are absolutely wrong. I will never owe anything on those rentals. They were included in the chapter 7 bankruptcy, and the deficiency balance is no longer mine to worry about.
