...credit when his name is not on the loan or title? I bought this small house before we were married, We lived there for a little while after we were married and then had a son. We decieded we needed a bigger home so we rented a 3 bdrm home. My sister-in-law rented the home I own. Now she is about to move out. My husband is about to lose his job. We will not be able to afford to make the house payment and pay rent in the larger home. Moving back to the smaller home is not an option. We can not afford to make improvements to the home to sell it. I'd like to consider a short sale but I'm not sure how to go about it. We are current on the mortgage right now but once my husband loses his job we probably won't be able to afford the house payment. We like not to rent it out again either and just be able to get rid of it.
