Default Will Fanny Mae ever climb back to...

...previous highs? I bought some Fanny Mae when it was $4. Since the gov't has stepped in is there any chance of it going back above $50?

No, I don't think so.Common shareholders will likely be liquidated at $0 per share sometime in the next 5 years...could be sooner if the next administration cleans up the mortgage mess as a part of the stimulus package.(The part you are missing is that FNM is essentially in receivership...the government has "bailed it out" by taking it over. If assets do not cover the amount the government has transferred to it, it will be liquidated by the government and its other creditors)
