Default If you are buying a house with a partner, and

need their income together with yours to get the mortgage...? If you're buying a house with your partner, but need their income also to get the mortgage, do they have to be on the deed to the property also? I ask because I am providing the down payment and he is basically providing the credit score and higher income than what I have. But since we both will be on the mortgage, do we both have to be on the deed to the house also? Trying to avoid a sticky situation if we ever broke up down the road. I don't want him/his family trying to come after the house, assets, whatever.
