Assoc. is NOT linked to your mortgage ? I live in Grandview, MO. within a 357 unit Townhouse Community that is over 30 yrs. old...used to be all rental property, but now has HOME OWNERS. The property was listed and I purshased it thur a Real Estate company...NOT thru a Home Assoc....I did not know then, what I know now. The dues vary according to the number of bed rooms. I have a 2bdrm and AT THIS TIME...I pay $150.00per month for snow removal, lawn care, roofing, water and siding. Dues can increase to $250.00 per month. The Board...consist of other homeowners whom may -or- maynot have knowledgeabout "Home Assoc's"...other than this one, which is based on this particular Home Assoc.covent.IF I am understanding correctly...the comments I have read indicate...Home Assoc. is connected tothe mortgage and can put a lien on your property IF you do NOT abide to their rules / covent. BUT...in this townhouse village...The mortages are NOT linked to the Home Assoc....but isoperated as such. Something is wrong HERE...How can I get to the ROOT of the problem ???Research is my forte..point me in the right direction. What should I look for and where do I go to find it.
