Default what is the point of forcing a 15 year mortgage on...

...yourself when you can always pay in advance with a 30 year? With a 30 year mortgage you are obligated to pay less every month but you can still pay it off in 15 years if you want to. I don't see why people would choose a 15 year mortgage that would make them obligated to pay it in 15 years. You could still pay it off in 15 years anyway. And then the extra 15 years of interest will not be something you have to pay.
