L.A, California? Ok, so basically, Im currently undergoing a Bachelors in Computer Science in Westminster, London. My aim is to move overseas to perhaps LA or New York to become a Business Systems Analyst or Web Developer, these two jobs have an average salary of $50-$100k, now, my question is, what kind of mortgage would i be able to obtain with this kind of salary, whats the cap on the value of the property I could get a mortgage for? This is all planning for the future of course, and couild be entirely irrelevant, but its good to have an idea as I'm in my final year of my bachelors course.

I am going to make the assumption that you are going to go with a 30 year traditional mortgage. Lets say you only put 5% down. The rule of thumb is that you should not spend more than 31% of your gross income on shelter.Lets say your pay is right in the middle of the range and you have a job that pays $75K per year. That means you should not spend more than $23,250 per year on shelter or $1937.50 per month. That amount needs to cover the cost of the mortgage, property taxes, insurance, and mortgage insurance.Hope this helps.Ross Falconeu-can-stop-foreclosure.com
