Default Spouse has attempted suicide and has been...

...committed to a mental hospital, are they still liable for mortgage? This is just a "quo - pro - quo" question, but if two members presently married own a joint loan on a mortgage, and if one of the spouses has solid evidence of verbal, psychological abuse to the point where one of the spouses has attempted suicide several times and is committed to a mental hopspital, and if that person is diagnosed by those doctors and it is suggested that individual "stay" longer at the hospital, then what happens to the "debt" of that spouse. They are unable to work, so therefore how can they pay for their part of the loan. This is just a hypothetical question....but the best answer will receive 5 points from me and I have 104 points I wont mind giving away.
