I bought a house with my brother, I know, bad idea. We went in it knowing I would only be able to put it about a fourth of household expenses at most and i have not even met up to that. His income is not consistant, being a freelance programmer, and we have recieved 4 notices to accelerate which he has dealt with just in the nick of time. so our credit is crap, my brother wants to keep the house, i want out, and the house is worth less than we owe on it. is there any options to just get my name off the mortgage? a quit claim can only get me off the deed not the loan....
