Mortgage advice?? Help!!?

I need help! My girlfriend and i are looking to get our own place. I am 22 and she is 20. We both work full time. What is the best option for first time buyers? What size deposit is needed for £160k property? 10%? We do not want to rent. Sorry for the vague details but we are quite new to all this. Thanks!
