Default

Possible but no lender is going to agree to this. A mortgage is secured on the property so if your partner defaulted on payment the lender has no right to take their security as it's not belonging to your partner. It may be possible by extra paperwork entitling the lender to a charge on your property, which effectively states that they own it until the mortgage is paid back in full.
