My mother recently passed away due to the fact that she had Alzheimer's Disease and failure to thrive. I did not know this at the time but she had taken out reverse mortgage from Financial Freedom several months before going into a nursing home and now that she is deceased they are calling wanting their money. They even had an appraisal company call wanting to make anappointment to have the property appraised and I told them that they would have to speak to my lawyer and I hung up! Everything is in probate now and the lawyer is wanting to get the house in my name so that no one else gets it. Can they really take the house? I know that at the time my mom was not in good mental health and if I had known that she was planning on doing this I would have stopped it. If I have to I will pay each and every month until it is paid off.
