Default Can my partner pick up keys on completion date

for house, even though his name isn't on mortgage deed? It looks like I wont be able to get time off work to pick up the keys on the completion date, and it could be weeks until I can get them 9-5 Mon to Fri. Is my partner allowed to collect them? He is listed as a person going to be living in the property, but the mortgage is not in his name.Additionally there is a little set back where the seller has to purchase indemnity insurance before we can exchange. Once the insurance is purchased, how many days will it take to exchange? I'm not sure of the process and will it consist of one form going from solicitor to buyer to solicitor to solicitor to seller? As that could take weeks! Both our solicitors are very quick at responding though. Also, there is not chain.....UK onlyThanks in advance!
