...trophies as payment? i have had a racing career that spanned all of 25 years, during those years i have spent at least $250,000 crashing stuff, (i mean winning races). to make a long story short i am now flat broke. but i have at least 300 dust collectors. so will the mortgage company take these. i figure with the rate of inflation they have got to be worth at least 300 grand. right?

You may have to take it to a pawnbroker for cash. They would give you money for it, probably based on its weight in gold or whichever metal. Don't expect it to be enough to pay a mortgage though, and they may not be happy to take so many items in bulk.
