Default Can I remove my name off the Mortgage?

Me and my fiance of 4 years plan to buy a cheap duplex, but if we ever break up in the future, can my name be removed from the mortgage? Is there anything I can sign in case anything like that happens. At the same time I feel if I don't put my name on the mortgage and we last until the house is paid off, then he gets all the share. Any advice?

I would not buy a house together before you get married. You can have an agreement or be on the deed of trust but not the note unless married.
