...Shortgage Spread applied? Mortgage question about shortage spread with Chase Bank?I hold a mortgage with Chase Bank. (I can't even explain how awful they are). Last year they applied an Escrow Acct on my mortgage. They sent a letter requesting me to call them regarding my tax payments. I pay through the city. I had 10 days to respond. I was out of town ( my aunt was dying) and put my mail on hold for 2 months and since they didn't hear from me they automatically put started my escrow account. When I got home my mortgage payment went from 1400 to 2100 a month. After that was straignted out they spead the escrow payment 60 months. Payments have been perfect. I called Chase to ask them to remove the escrow account and I got a letter today saying that now I have a shortgage spread applied. I know have to pay 3,100.00 a month. They at one time came to forclosure on the property saying it looked abandonded. It wasn't, a new fence and landscaping was going up. Things looked a mess by far form abandoned. The man who came to close looked shocked and said he never had anything happen like that and told he wouldn't do anything. When I called Chase they said that there was a mistake. I pointed out that I didn't get a letter or call regarding their forclosure. 5 days later I got a letter saying that they had right to take that stand because they held the mortgage. I guess someone drove by and never got out to look around. Its been one thing after another with them. I had an account with B of A for 15 years and nothing happened. Chase is another stores. How do I deal with getting my escrow and now shortage spread taken off. I am afraid if I call just to say hello they will add something else on.Thank You,I wasn't late paying taxes.
