Default Can I sue my ex for missed and future

mortgage payments if we are coborrowers on a home loan? My ex finance and I bought a home together last year. He was arrested in the fall for assaulting and strangling me. There was a protective order in place for 4 months after that saying he was not allowed to come to our house. I now have a restraining order in place until September. He has refused to pay the mortgage and now owes me over $4,000 in missed payments. I want to put the house for sale, but need him to pay back those missed payments and pay his half until we sell. Can I sue him so he is forced to do this? He might argue he is not allowed to live here and shouldn't have to pay, but he is not allowed to live her because he strangled and assaulted me so it was court ordered.
