Default Buying A House From A Neighbor Who Has A 23,000

MORTGAGE? I'm buying my neighbors house, he currently has a mortgage to pay off for 23000 he offered me to buy it for 23,000. He and I are both clueless on how to sell a house in this case... he was talking about getting a relator and i thought that would be a waste of money since he knows he's selling it to me. i guess my question is how would we go about handling this kind of transaction. I live in kansas.

Get a realtor, they may cost a few bucks but in the long run they may also save you thousands. Is there any back taxes owed? Questions like that should be addressed.

Rather than go through a realtor, you may want to consult a real estate attorney who does residential real estate transactions. Talk to your family or work colleagues for referrals. If you can't find any, the Yellow Pages may work.

I agree to the above posts.

You need a realtor for this transaction.
