Q about home insurance included in mortgage loan?
My boyfriend is in the process of buying his first home. We have inspection on Friday and if all is well, it's his.The loan has been approved already but I wanted to get opinions from home-owners or someone with expertise in the field of it.There's a company here that will get the loan set up for you and help with everything and you don't have to put any money down on the home--it's just for first time home buyers. The deal is, the loan amount includes your home insurance and your property taxes. If it's a 30 year loan, does that mean the insurance and taxes are covered until the home is paid off, then he will start paying the insurance and taxes separately on his own after he owns the home? (when the 30 years are up)Also..the main q.Is this a rip off? would it not be cheaper to get insurance separately? and pay taxes out of your own pocket each year instead of financing with your mortgage? Please tell me all the details you know on this subject. I don't want him to do something foolish with his first home purchase.Thank you!
