Default Is it better to get house in my name only in order

to quality for a SONYMA mortgage? My boyfriend and I are buying a house together. I am interested in a SONYMA mortgage, but if we add both of our incomes together we exceed the income limit. If we just use one of our incomes, however, we fall within the income requirements for it. We are not married but plan to be in a year or two. Is it a better idea to just buy the house in one of our names, and then add the other person's name to the house later?Non-spammers pleeease? Thanks Old Jimmy! We'd prefer not to wait because we despise renting and as we cannot afford both a house and a wedding at the same time, we would both rather spend money on a house than a grossly overpriced party that I have to buy a $500 dress for.
